What is Accentuate?

Where do the practice lessons come from?
They’re generated with Claude, Anthropic’s AI model. Claude writes the words and sentences you practice, built around the sounds speakers of your language find hardest, so you always have new material to say.
How does the scoring work?
Each sound you say gets a score from 0 to 100 for how closely it matched native speech, and one clearly wrong sound keeps the whole word from passing. Green means you got it, orange is close, and red needs work.
What is a Golden Voice?
An optional Pro feature: an AI copy of your voice that speaks English with a native accent, made from your assessment recordings with your permission. You practice by speaking along with it.
In studies, learners who practiced with their own voice given a native accent became easier to understand and more fluent (Ding et al., 2019; Kusz & Pawliszko, 2025).
What happens to my recordings?
They’re scored on your iPhone and saved there, so you can replay them. A word the phone can’t score yet, such as some names, is sent to Microsoft’s speech service instead. If you create a Golden Voice, your assessment recordings are sent to ElevenLabs to make it.
There are no ads, and we never sell your data. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what goes where.
